FEMALE DRIVER CHARGED WITH TINTED WINDOWS OBSCURING INTERIOR
(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON) – On June 3, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Highway 17 in the Municipality of Huron Shores.
At 7:48 a.m., police observed a westbound vehicle with its windows tinted black and could not see the occupants. A traffic stop was initiated. As police approached the vehicle, they could not see inside the vehicle and requested the female driver to roll down all the windows in the vehicle for officer safety.
Paola ANCIELLO, 32 years of age from Woodbridge, Ontario, was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: Colour Coating Obscuring Interior, contrary to section 73(3) of the Highway Traffic Act.
TRACTOR TRAILER DRIVER CHARGED
(THESSALON, ON) – On June 1, 2016 at, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17 of an eastbound Tractor Trailer crossing the centre line.
At 3:43 p.m., police observed the eastbound Tractor Trailer and initiated a traffic stop near the Town of Thessalon. Police determined the driver’s daily log books were not up to date. The driver was also warned regarding his driver’s habits.
Raymond BRAINARD, 37 years of age, from South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: Fail to Maintain Daily Log, contrary to section 190(3) of the Highway Traffic Act.
2 VEHICLES FOLLOWING EACH OTHER – 2 DRIVERS CHARGED
(JOHNSON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 1, 2016, at 3:16 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17 of two cube vans following each other and travelling at high rates of speed near Sowerby.
At 3:32 p.m., police observed two cube vans matching the description and travelling at a high rate of speed in Johnson Township. A traffic stop was initiated. As a result of the investigation, police was determined the driver of the lead cube van was a suspended driver. The second cube van, the female driver was following too close.
Alan CASTILLO, 28 years of age, from Bolton, Ontario, was charged with:
Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act; and
Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on July 27, 2016.
Saylen HERNANDEZ MOYA, 36 years of age, from Etobicoke, Ontario, was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: Follow Too Closely, contrary to section 158(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
