It’s been quite the marathon for us here at Superior Media, that’s for sure. In as little as a few months, myAlgoma.ca has become one of the “go to” sites in the Algoma District – and for good reason! Our awesome new partnership with Brenda Grundt, formerly wawa-news.com, has allowed us to provide content to pretty much most areas North of the Sault with focus now shifting on areas in the East.
Consumers of news, especially local news, appreciate having more than one news source online and from your feedback, we seem to be on the right track. We continue to hit major milestones a lot quicker than we thought we would – for example, myAlgoma.ca recorded over 38,000 unique visitors in a single day not too long ago and our daily audience continues to grow faster than any other news site in the area! That’s pretty impressive. So a BIG thank you for all your support!
Over the next few months, we will be continuing to enhance coverage of local content across the entire Algoma District, with a primary focus on “feel good” stories and events.

We always welcome content contributions from anyone who would like to give back to their Community, provide exposure to a great cause, or simply enjoy sharing a story or two from time to time.

Along with your feedback, we are continuing to make adjustments and adding new features. Today we added a new function that allows you to send in any announcements you would like share with the Community. In addition to obituaries, announcements has been expanded to include anniversaries, births, birthday wishes, grads, garage/yard sales, engagements, weddings, lost & found and memorials.
All you have to do is click on Announcements located in the main menu. From there a drop down menu will display each of these new categories as well as a link to “Submit an Announcement“. Simply fill out the form, add a photo or document if you have one then click on the submit button. Please allow up to 24 hours for each submission to appear. Our team will be reviewing submissions, a step necessary to ensure it was made from a human and not a computer or spammer.
