Blind River OPP – 2 Males Charged with Liquor Offences

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On July 29, 2016, shortly before 10:00 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) set up Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program on Highway 557 north of Blind River.  

Police observed two males walking on Highway 557 with open containers of alcoholic beverages.  As a result of the investigation, Aaron ROY, 19 years of age and Joel HAMMOND, 19 years of age, both from Blind River, Ontario, were issued each a provincial offence notice and charged with:  Consuming Liquor in Other than Licensed Premises, Residence or Private Place, contrary to section 31(2) of the Liquor Licence Act.
