The Algoma District School Board (ADSB) advises parents/guardians of Chapleau JK-12 School that the school will be open on Friday, October 14th and classes will be running on a regular schedule.
As the investigation is ongoing, a police presence will be maintained at the school to help ensure the safety and security of students and staff. The school exterior doors will be locked so entry to and exit from the building will be closely monitored through the front doors only. Recesses will be held indoors. In addition, there will be counsellors on hand at the school on Friday to support students and staff, if needed.
Director of Education, Lucia Reece, reminds parents that students’ safety is always our first priority. We thank the local O.P.P. and we will continue to work in partnership as the investigation moves forward.
We thank parents and the community of Chapleau for your patience, understanding and cooperation.
