Kayak located by owners on the Serpent River north of Highway 17

On October 5, 2016, shortly before 10:00 a.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft of a kayak from a residence on Riverview Road in the Township of the North Shore.

On October 1, 2016, one of two kayaks was located across the river from the owner’s property and the other missing.  The kayaks were parked on shore near the Serpent River.  The owner travelled the waterway in search of the other kayak and did not locate it. Left at the scene was a white large t-shirt with the word “Canada” on it.

The open kayak is described as a Pelican Boost 100, lime green in color, 10 feet in length, adjustable padded backrest, bottle holder, carrying handles and is valued at $470.

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
