On December 12, 2016 shortly after 4:00 pm the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint regarding a collision at the Junction of Government Road and Lake Huron Drive. The collision involved a motorized snow vehicle that entered the ditch on Government Road.
As a result of the investigation, Heather McKEDDIE, 36 years of age, from Desbarats, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:
- Driving While Ability Impaired – Motor Vehicle (Alcohol), contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code;
- Driving With More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River, on January 23, 2017.
