On January 9, 2017, shortly after 1:00 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to assist Algoma District Paramedics Service at a collision involving a pick-up truck and a snowmobile on River Road in the Town Blind River.
Investigation determined that a 17-year-old male was injured when the snowmobile he was operating crossed the road into the path of a pick-up truck. He was transported to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. The driver of the pick-up truck did not sustain any injuries.
OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) team was called in to assist with the investigation. The south entrance of River Road and part of snowmobile Trail “D” are closed.
The investigation is still ongoing
