Male charged with Domestic Assault

On March 16, 2017, shortly after 12:00 a.m., members of the East Algoma Provincial Police (OPP) responded to domestic dispute at a residence on Nadon Street in the Town of Blind River.

Investigation determined that a male entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence through a window and would not leave. The male left prior to police arrival. Police learned on two separate occasions within the past three months, the male had punched holes in the residence and had physically assaulted her twice. The male was later located and arrested.

As a result, a 21 year old male, from Blind River, Ontario, was charged with:

Forcible Entry, contrary to section 72(1) of the Criminal Code (CC);
Assault (Spousal) (X2), contrary to section 266 of the CC;
Mischief (Spousal), contrary to section 430(4) of the CC; and
Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1).

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on March 17, 2017.
