Charges laid as a result of New Year’s Eve Party on the Garden River First Nation

On January 4th, 2021, the Anishinabek Police Service were made aware of a New Year’s Eve Party in contravention of provincial guidelines that had occurred at a residence on the Garden River First Nation.  In collaboration with Algoma Public Health an investigation was commenced.

As a result of that investigation charges have been laid pursuant to the Reopening of Ontario Act.

Patricia Kelly Solomon, Justin Ralph Romano, and a young person have each been charged with one count each under the Reopening of Ontario Act.

  • Host a gathering at a residential premises exceeding the number of persons permitted contrary to Sec. 10.1(1) of the Reopening Ontario Act, 2020
