OPP Charge Elliot Lake Resident With Numerous Sex Related Offences

On November 10, 2021 the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a historical sexual assault related investigation in Elliot Lake.

The investigation involved numerous victims of various ages over an extensive period of time. On November 13, 2021 at approximately 2:50 a.m. police executed an arrest warrant at a residence on Beckett Boulevard. A 44 year-old was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Sexual Assault (two counts), contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code (CC)
Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm, contrary to section 272(1)(c) of the CC
Sexual Assault with Threat of Harm to Third Person (two counts), contrary to section 272(1)(b) of the CC
Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Person Under 18 years of age, contrary to section 171.1(1)(a) of the CC
Incest (two counts), contrary to section 155 of the CC
Invitation to Sexual Touching Under 16 years of age (five counts), contrary to section 152 of the CC
Sexual Interference (four counts), contrary to section 151 of the CC
Assault, contrary to section 266 of the CC
Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm (two counts), contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on November 14, 2021.
