Heavy black smoke is currently being reported across the eastern parts of the city. Sources have told SaultOnline/ONNtv that the heavy smoke is originating from a forest fire in the area of Ojibway Park along Highway 17B between Garden River and Echo Bay.
Multiple calls have come into our newsroom as high winds carry the smoke across a large area east with Echo Bay Fire and Garden River Fire reported to be responding to the blaze.
