Pedestrian Charged In Traffic Hazard

(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON)- On August 16th, 2022, shortly after 9:00 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic hazard, of a pedestrian walking close to the shoulder on Highway 17 near Nestorville Road in the Municipality of Huron Shores (west of Thessalon).

Police attended the area and observed the person walking eastbound. Investigation determined the pedestrian had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court and was subsequently arrested.

As a result, Roxanne THOMPSON 40 years-of-age was charged with: Fail to Attend for Court-as per Undertaking, contrary to section 145(4)(b) of the Criminal Code

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail Court in Blind River on August 17th, 2022.
