(ESPANOLA, ON) – An accused person, who was arrested as a result of a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant earlier this month, remains outstanding and unidentified after providing a false identity to police. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) is continuing the investigation and is in the process of locating the individual who will be charged accordingly. The OPP included the name Matthew ENGLAND, 23-years-old from Sudbury, which was wrongfully provided by the accused at the time of the arrest.
The other five accused involved in this investigation are still scheduled to appear before the court on their scheduled dates.
On December 8, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the OPP CSCU executed a CDSA search warrant with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team which led to multiple arrests at a residence on Albert Street in Espanola.
A search of the residence led to the seizure of over 15 grams of suspected Fentanyl, over 9 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, and over 62 grams of suspected crack cocaine. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $17,000. Police also located approximately $775 in Canadian currency. As a result, six people were arrested and charged.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on January 16, 2023.
