(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On February 5, 2023, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person in relation to a traffic related complaint on Ontario Avenue in Elliot Lake.
At approximately 9:55 a.m. the complainant reported being run off the road by a known family member. The complainant was forced to hit the snowbank in order to avoid a head-on collision. There was a prior history of disputes between the family members.
Penny BAIN, 55 years-old, of Levack was arrested and charged with:
Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm (two counts), contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
Uttering threats – damage property (two counts), contrary to section 264.1(1)(b) of the CC
Assault with a weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the CC
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on March 6, 2023.
