One person has been located deceased after a structure fire on Mississagi Bay Road in the Municipality of Huron Shores.
On February 6, 2023, shortly after 9:00 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment responded to the fire, along with the Mississauga First Nation Police Service and the Huron Shores Fire Department.
The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed at this time.
The East Algoma OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, is continuing to investigate, with assistance from the OPP’s Forensic Identification Services Unit in conjunction with the Office of the Fire Marshal, the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
