(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – The Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 308 domestic related incidents in 2022, 88 of which resulted in someone being charged with a criminal offence. This is a 4 percent (%) decrease in domestic related incidents compared to 2021 where 321 domestic related incidents were investigated and 78 resulted in charges.
Some of the charges include:
- Assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault cause bodily harm
- Distribute image without consent
- Utter threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Sexual assault
- Criminal harassment
- Mischief
- Arson
To protect the identify of the victims the OPP will not release the names of those involved.
