(SABLES-SPANISH RIVERS TOWNSHIP, ON) – A single vehicle collision on Highway 17 leads to arrest and drug charges in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.
On March 2, 2023, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of an SUV that had crossed over the opposing lane, collided with, and then became perched on a guardrail.
As a result of the investigation, police seized approximately 130 grams of suspected cocaine as well as approximately $3,550 in Canadian currency.
Thomas Joseph PIDGEON, 52-years-old, from Elliot Lake was arrested and charged with:
Careless driving
Possession of cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Operate unsafe vehicle
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on May 15, 2023.
