Earth Day may be celebrated on April 22, however the students from École St-Augustin (Garson) care about their environment every day. The St-Augustin students are making a difference and helping the planet thanks to their electric composter nicknamed “Coco, the composter”. They can compost their food waste and thus produce organic matter that will be used to enrich the school garden. By hosting and leading various ecological activities, École St-Augustin earned last year the EcoSchools silver level certification, which recognizes the work of the school in promoting environmental learning and climate action. The school’s goal is to obtain the gold level certification by the end of the school year.

Des élèves engagés envers la planète
Bien que la Journée de la Terre est soulignée le 22 avril dernier, les Dauphins se soucient de leur environnement à tous les jours. Les élèves de St-Augustin (Garson) font une différence envers la planète grâce à leur composteur électrique surnommé « Coco, le composteur ». Ils peuvent composter leurs déchets alimentaires et ainsi produire de la matière organique qui sera utilisée pour alimenter le jardin scolaire. Grâce à la tenue d’activités variés, l’école St-Augustin s’est mérité la désignation « ÉcoÉcole » de niveau argent. L’objectif est d’atteindre le niveau or par la fin de l’année scolaire.
