Hilton Beach, Ontario, Canada – 2023 is a milestone year for the Village of Hilton Beach as it commemorates 100 years since incorporation on May 8, 1923.
Located on the northeast shore of St. Joseph Island in the heart of the Great Lakes in northern Ontario, Hilton Beach is a village of 200 and a beautiful place to live or visit. The Village of Hilton Beach has been an important port of call and a popular tourist destination for over a century.
The Village has introduced a new logo to celebrate the Centennial. Using the corporate logo as inspiration (designed in 2015 by resident Patricia Duma as part of a logo contest), the Centennial logo continues to capture the essence of the Village.
To launch Centennial celebrations, the Village of Hilton Beach Council and Staff are hosting a Centennial Tea and Tell event at the Hilton Beach Community Hall (3050 Hilton Road) from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday May 7, 2023, with tea, coffee, and sweets by Mad Jacks Café of Hilton Beach.
“The Village of Hilton Beach is excited to kick-off the Centennial year and mark the 100th Anniversary with a Centennial Tea and Tell event,” says Robert Hope, Mayor of Hilton Beach. “This is the first of many events that the Village together with its community partners will be hosting during the Centennial year, and we hope that residents and visitors will join us as we celebrate 100 years.”
An RSVP for the Centennial Tea and Tell event is requested by Monday May 1st by calling (705) 246-2242 or emailing [email protected]. Attendees are encouraged to bring stories, photos, recipes, artefacts, or other historical items of interest for compilation in a Centennial history project.
